Sick and Tired of Being Fat?

 

Rewind to a couple of weeks ago: It's the day after Thanksgiving. I have no business going near a scale. But, I do. I don't know why but when I see the results, I wish I hadn't. The scale reads 193.8 pounds, 26.9% body fat. I have one of those fancy scales that shows body fat percentage too. Maybe that doesn't seem to bad for a 6 foot tall man, but it's the heaviest I've ever been in my life. Five years ago I hovered around 176. For the last 2 or so years I was 180 lbs, and that day I found out I was well on my way to 200 lbs.

I don't like to be fat. I keep a list of life goals, and having visible abs has been on that list since I was 20. I've been close before, but its been a long twelve years and cut up abdominals have not been a priority.

I'm ready now. I'm tired of my gut. I want to have a single digit fat percentage.

In this spirit, I started searching for a structured fat loss program to follow that can take me where I want to go. I've looked at seven programs. But, the one that appealed to me most and the one I choose to use is Craig Ballantyne's Turbulence Training.

My wife is doing the program with me. She wants to lose...ahem... a lot of weight. I'll probably be able to get her stats in this by the end of the week. But, I'm going to have to do some international-level diplomacy to talk her into it.

So far it's been seven days, we're certainly not ready for any before and after pictures. But, I think I can talk about the program, how it's structured, the exercises, the food, and the results we've had so far.
