How to Lose Weight: 10 Ten Do's and
Dont's |
Do eat a healthy
and substantial breakfast. It's the most important meal of the
day and you won't get far with a pounding headache.
Don't starve yourself. This will
only slow down your metabolism to a crawl.
Do have reasonable weight loss
goals. Give yourself an appropriate amount of time to take off
the weight. It didn't take you one week to put it on, and it's
not going to come off safely in week either.
Don't drink your calories. A super
easy way to reduce your calories and lose some pounds without
breaking a sweat is to simply cut out sugar-laden or fatty
drinks like soda, juices and milkshakes. Drink lots of water
instead.
Do commit to exercising. If you
want to lose weight fast, you need to pair a good diet with a
good exercise program. Doing only one or the other is going to
bring about sub par results.
Do eat more vegetables. Odds are
that you are not eating enough leafy green vegetables or getting
enough fiber. Switch to full grain bread and eat more roughage.
When choosing vegetables think colors. As long as you are eating
a variety of natural colors you'll be on the right track.
Don't go overboard. It's awesome to
be motivated, but take it easy in the beginning, especially when
it comes to exercise. You have to ease into if you haven't been
moving much at all. There's nothing a like a painful injury to
make your weight loss program come to a screeching halt.
Don't eat like your trying to win a
pie eating contest. Slow down, partner. Taking time to chew your
food thoroughly gives your stomach a chance to tell your brain
when you're satisfied. Notice I said satisfied, not full. You
should never feel like you're about to pop.
Do rid your kitchen of saboteurs.
Cleaning your kitchen of anything that is going to sabotage your
program is an easy insurance policy against moments of weak
will. Toss the potato chips, cookies and other junk foods. It's
not that you will never eat those foods, but the more
inconvenient they are to get to, the better.
Don't think
of your program as a "diet." That's the quickest way to fall off
the wagon. If you plan on keeping the weight off permanently,
you need to think of the changes you are implementing as
permanent lifestyle changes. When you change your habits,
maintaining your trim figure is a breeze.
Lose The Weight and Keep it
Off...
...For Good.
