5 Ways to Get More From Your Diet to
Lose Weight |
Whatever program you choose to follow for
your new diet, you want to extract the maximum result from your
efforts. These five tips will help you to get more and go
farther with the diet you choose.
1. Plan Your Meals
The week will go smother and it won't feel like such a Herculean
effort to stay on your diet if you plan your meals ahead of
time. This may take some getting used to, if you've never done
meal planning before, but it's very much worth the effort.
Planning your meals ahead of time will take the pressure off
during your busy work week and keep you on track.
2. Cook What You Can Beforehand
There are lots of thing you can cook on the weekend and package
in smaller portions to use during the week. Soups and broths are
especially suited to this, but you'll be surprised at how much
you can get out of the way with a little bulk cooking up front.
Imagine how much time you'll save. Prepared meals are a much
healthier alternative to the convenience of fast food.
3. Eat More Often
If you're on a good and balanced diet, it will not be very
calorie dense. So, you need to eat more often to keep your blood
sugar and energy at a good level. It is amazing how much more
energy you can have when you switch from two to three heavy
meals to five or more a day.
4. Drink Good Water
Are you drinking at least eight 8 oz glasses of water per day?
But, are you drinking quality water? Tap water simply has too
many chemicals to drink straight from the tap. You don't have to
rely on expensive bottled water; invest in a filtration system
to provide you and your family with pure and healthy water. A
reverse osmosis filter is best, but even a simple carbon filter
pitcher will go a long way in protecting you from ingesting too
many chemicals.
5. Don't Torture Yourself
Remember that you're making life changes here; self torture will
only get you so far before you revolt and return to old,
unhealthy eating habits. Make sure that the diet you choose is
pleasant to you; eat foods that you like or can learn to enjoy.
Remember that it takes time to establish new habits so go easy
on yourself. If you fall off the wagon don't let that be an
excuse to abandon your goals altogether. It takes real courage
to change, but I know you can do it if you stick with it.
Lose The Weight and Keep it
Off...
...For Good.
